Raipur (The States. news) | Kalinga University, Raipur is a NAAC B+ accredited university with NIRF ranking in the band of 150-200 and it has truly emerged as a center of excellence in higher education in central India. To respect cultural diversity, Kalinga university celebrated Christmas, the festival of love, tolerance, and brotherhood.
On 23 December 2021, Kalinga University Raipur celebrated its Annual Christmas and New Year Party with joy and happiness. After the last Sunday of Advent season, all the university students were excitedly waiting for this evening to celebrate the Christmas party. The place was decorated beautifully with glitter and lights. It looked amazing on the evening of Christmas. As Christmas is the season of Hope, Peace, Love, and Joy, Kalinga University organized this celebration for international students who stayed back and did not travel back to their homes for the holiday. The students were highly impressed with the grand preparation of the organizers. After the lovely Welcome, the program was followed by Christmas Carols delivered by the University student band. A nice dramatic presentation was given by the students on the Birth of Jesus Christ, symbolising the four seasonal weeks. The incredible celebration was marked by the eminent presence of Dr. R. Shridhar, Honourable Vice-Chancellor of the University,

Chief Proctor, Deans, Heads, Faculty members and the students of various
departments. The dignitaries extended warm and lovely wishes for
Christmas. They shared the importance and stressed on the significance of
Christmas festival and told different stories about the belief that Jesus
Christ, the savior was born on this very day.
The festival ended on a high with a scintillating dance performance by
University’s International Students. The celebrations also included a
rhythmic performance from the University student choir and an add-on
surprise by the appearance of one faculty member dressed as Santa Claus.
The staff and students were completely spellbound with the Christmas
gratification.
The program was effectively conducted by the Kalinga University
organizing team Headed by Dr. Asha Ambhaikar, Dean of students
welfare, International Student Coordinator, Mr. Arpan Dubey, Mrs. Parvinder Shesh and Ms. Marieta Jagdalla was the master of
ceremony and the cheerful Santa Claus. Nuah Meway Augustine presented
the vote of thanks at the end of the party celebration, which was followed
by a group photo and the day was called off with a hearty dinner. The
students showed genuine appreciation and admiration for the University’s
effort and warmth to make them feel at home and ease for Christmas.
