He advised the girls to develop the habit of reading books regularly. These inspiring stories instill courage and determination to move forward in life.
He further advised the girls to always strive to do work that is not driven solely by the desire to gain something for oneself, but also by a selfless commitment to helping others and contributing to the welfare of society.
During the programme, Governor Shri Deka interacted directly with the girls and responded warmly to their questions and curiosities. He presented stationery items to them as gifts. In return, the girls expressed their affection by presenting the Governor with handmade gifts.
Maintaining Balance Between Flora & Fauna Is Essential
On the occasion, Governor Shri Deka also raised awareness about environmental conservation and the growing water crisis. He said that maintaining a balance between humans, animals, and nature is extremely important, and trees play the most vital role in sustaining this balance. Therefore, protecting trees and undertaking large-scale plantation drives is a collective responsibility.
Expressing concern, he remarked, “We never imagined that one day we would have to buy water for drinking.” He stressed that water conservation and augmentation are of utmost importance. In a cautionary note, he warned that if trees are not protected today, Chhattisgarh could face a severe groundwater crisis within the next 25 years. He observed that humans themselves are responsible for polluting clean air and water, and therefore it is also humanity’s responsibility to correct the situation.
