Low Pressure over Bay of Bengal, IMD predicts rains in Odisha for three days

Bhubaneswar, (thestates.news)| A low pressure area has formed over the central parts of the North Bay of Bengal under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over the central parts of the Bay of Bengal, IMD sources said on Wednesday. The system is very likely to become more marked during the next 24 hours and move across south Odisha, north Andhra Pradesh, and south Chhattisgarh during the next three days.

The IMD had issued yellow and orange warnings to several districts of Odisha, which will witness light to moderate rains, thundershowers, and lightning for the next three days. It had also issued red warnings in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Bolangir, and Kandhamal districts where scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 cm to 20 cm) with isolated extremely heavy ( >20cm) will likely occur in the next three days.(UNI)
