Mumbai (Thestates.news)|The registration process for the Tata Mumbai Marathon to be held on 21 January 2024 was launched with the digital registration of the name of Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Thursday (10 Aug).
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Bais said the Mumbai Marathon creates a level playing field, removing the distinctions like the rich and the poor, rural and urban, women and men, etc. He said the Mumbai Marathon upholds democratic values and secularism. He complimented the organizers for making charity an integral part of the Mumbai Marathon. Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Chhagan Bhujbal, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Sanjay Bansode, MLA Ashish Shelar, former MLA Raj Purohit, GOC M G & G Area Gen H S Kahlon, Flag Officer Commanding, Maharashtra Naval Area Rear Admiral A N Pramod, General Manager of Central Railway Naresh Lalwani, GM Western Railway Ashok Misra, Marathon organisers Anil Singh and Vivek Singh, actor Rahul Bose, Brand Custodian of Tata Group Harish Bhat, TCS head Ujjwal Mathur, IDFC First Bank COO M. Balakrishnan, founder of International Institute of Sports Management Nilesh Kulkarni and others were present.
