PM gifts Gujarat projects worth more than 1k cr

Sabarkantha/New Delhi, (thestates.news) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday visited Sabar Dairy at Gadhoda Chowki in Sabarkantha and inaugurated and laid foundation stones of several projects worth more than ₹ 1,000 crore.

These projects will empower the local farmers and milk producers and increase their income. This will also boost the rural economy of the region. Prime Minister, on a trip to Gujarat, visited Sabar Dairy and inaugurated a powder plant with a capacity of about 120 Million Tonnes Per Day (MTPD). The total cost of the entire project is over ₹ 300 crore, layout of the plant meets global food safety standards. This almost zero emission plant has very low energy consumption and is equipped with latest and fully automatic bulk packing line.

Modi also inaugurated the Aseptic Milk Packaging Plant at Sabar Dairy. It is a state-of-the-art plant with a capacity of 3 lakh litres per day. Project has been prepared with a total investment of about ₹ 125 crore. The plant has very low energy consumption and latest automation system with eco-friendly technology. This project will help in ensuring better remuneration to the milk producers.

Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of the Sabar Cheese and Whey Drying Plant project. Estimated outlay of the project is around ₹ 600 crore. The plant will produce Cheddar Cheese (20 MTPD), Mozzarella Cheese (10 MTPD) and Processed Cheese (16 MTPD). The whey generated during the manufacturing of paneer will also be dried in a 40 MTPD capacity whey drying plant. Sabar Dairy is a part of Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which manufactures and markets a complete range of milk and milk products under the brand Amul.(HS)
