A nationwide National Lok Adalat will be organized on Saturday, September 9, under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) New Delhi to provide speedy justice to the parties and for quick disposal of cases through mutual agreement and compromise. In this line, Lok Adalats will also be held in all district courts and civil courts across the state by the State Legal Services Authority (SALSA) Bilaspur. This will include settlement of cases related to various matters such as motor accident claims, cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act (cheque bounce cases), Section 125 of the Criminal Procedure Code, disputes related to matrimonial matters and cases related to water tax, property tax, revenue-related matters, traffic challans, rent control excise matters, pre-litigation matters related to banks and electricity. Cases such as mutual partition among account holders will be settled by the Revenue Court bench, division among heirs, pending recovery cases in the Department of Telecommunications, Municipal Corporations and Nagar Palika Parishads, pre-litigation cases, motor accident claim cases, bank recovery cases, possession-based partition, cases under Section 145 of the Criminal Procedure Code, Rent Control Act cases, matters related to usufruct, as well as cases involving the transfer based on sale deeds, gift deeds, and wills, along with all other types of cases, will be disposed of through the National Lok Adalat based on mutual agreement and compromise.
