Mumbai,
(the states. news) The BSE Sensex on
Wednesday nosedived 871.13 pts to settle at 49,180.31 as selling was seen
across the board amid negative Asian Market.
The Nifty too dropped by 265.35 pts to 14,549.40.
The equity market slid following negative Asian Market shares and the dollar
neared four-month highs as coronavirus lockdowns in Europe and potential US tax
hikes hit risk appetite.
In early trade, the Sensex fell by 265 pts to 49,786.47. During the day it lost
931 pts to 49,120.34, days low before closing at 49,180.31, sliding by 871.13
pts from its previous close.
The sensex registered days high and low at 49,854.58 and 49,120.34 pts
respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at
14,752.35 and 14,535 pts respectively.
The sectoral indices that dragged the market were Realty, Metal, Auto, Bankex
and Industrials stocks. The scrips that declined were M& M, SBI, ICICI
Bank, IndusInd Bank and Axis Bank.
The Mid Cap slipped by 1.69 pc and Small Cap by 1.60 pc.
