Sr CPI(M) leader Kunjananthan passes away

Thiruvananthapuram, (thestates.news) Senior #Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader P K Kunjananthan, who was convicted for the murder of rebel Left leader TP Chandarashekharan, passed away at the Government Medical College Hospital here due to stomach ailments on Thursday night.
He was 73 and survived by his wife Santha and two children Shabna and Shiril.
Kunjananthan was the 13th accused in the murder case and had been undergoing treatment at the hospital since January 14, 2019.
His condition became worsened from Sunday last following an infection in his abdomen.
He was an area committee member of the CPI-M in Panur since 1980 and was convicted on January 22, 2014 in the TP Chandrashekharan murder case.
Earlier, the #Kerala High Court had allowed him to undergo treatment following a recommendation of the Medical Board. (uni) (mediasaheb.com)
