Raipur (thestates.news) |On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, the 76th Anniversary of India’s Independence Day was celebrated with fervor and enthusiasm at the picturesque Kalinga University Campus in Naya Raipur.

Padma Shree Dr. Bharti Bandhuji graced the event as the Hon’ble Chief Guest, elevating the
patriotic spirit of the occasion. The National flag was unfurled in front of a distinguished
audience that included notable dignitaries, faculty members, and a large number of students. Padma Shree’s Dr. Bharti Bandhuji, the Chief Guest, embodied the significance of the event as he hoisted the National flag on the Kalinga University campus. The ceremony, which was attended by the Vice Chancellor-Dr. R Shridhar, Dean of Students Welfare-Dr. Jasmine Joshi, Deputy Registrar and Head HR-Ms. Lincy Roy, and other faculty members, was a testament to the academic community’s solidarity and patriotic spirit.
During his address, Padma Shree Dr. Bharti Bandhuji paid heartfelt tributes to the martyrs of the
struggle for freedom, emphasising the sacrifices done for India’s independence. He expressed his
belief in the pivotal role of education in nurturing responsible citizens, highlighting the all-
encompassing development of students at Kalinga University.

Sharing his experiences, he urged students to uphold India’s ethical values and cultural traditions, encouraging them to preserve the essence of the nation’s identity. Dr. Bharti Bandhuji urged the students to carry the legacy of the National Flag with pride across the global stage and encouraged them to dedicate themselves to the welfare of the nation.
A stirring recitation of patriotic poems by Dr. A Rajshekhar kindled the flames of patriotism
among the attendees. The vibrant celebration continued with a soul-stirring rendition of a
patriotic song by student Mr. Ankur from the B.Tech (Comp. Science), followed by an
enthralling dance performance by Ms. Mahek Sharma, a student from the B.Com.
Vice Chancellor, Dr. R Shridhar, shared his insights and perspective on the significance of
Independence Day, reiterating the importance of unity and progress for the nation.
The event culminated with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Jasmine Joshi, the Dean of Students
Welfare, who expressed gratitude to all participants and attendees for their valuable
contributions.
