Lucknow,(thestates.news) : The state cabinet meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Thursday approved the New Electric Vehicle Policy-2022 to attract investment in the electric vehicle sector and promote rapid electric vehicle adoption. The new Electric Vehicle Policy is aimed at promoting accelerated classification of clean mobility resources and creating a conducive ecosystem for electric vehicles in Uttar Pradesh. Electric vehicles will get 15 percent cent subsidy.
The first two lakh two-wheelers wheelers will be exempted and get a discount of ₹5,000. Exemption will be given on first 50,000 three-wheelers. At the same time, exemption will also be given to the first 25,000 four wheelers with a discount of ₹1lakh. Two proposals related to tourism department have been passed in the cabinet. Shani Parikrama Path will be made in Kosikala, Mathura. A target of 73 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been set. One lakh metric tonnes of maize, 50,000 metric tonnes of millet will be procured. New shopping centres will open. Purchase centers for maize will be opened in 25 districts and bajra in 18 districts. After the cabinet meeting, Parliamentary Affairs and Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh held a press conference and informed about the resolutions passed by the cabinet.(HS)
