Raipur (the states. news) International Women’s Day will be celebrated on March 8. On this occasion, a number of programme will be organized in all the districts to create awareness about legal rights of women, to eradicate social evils and to honour the women excelling in various fields. Public representatives will also attend these programmes, Directorate of Women and Child Development has issued instructions in the context to all the District Programme Officers and Women and Child Development officials. Officials have been directed to ensure compliance to COVID-19 prevention guidelines while organizing these programmes.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, participation of women from various sectors should be ensured and information about government schemes, legal provisions and economic empowerment initiatives should be provided. Newly-elected Panchayati Raj officials should be invited and informed about departmental schemes, rural livelihood mission, national employment guarantee scheme and rural employment oriented schemes. On the occasion, participation of men should also be ensured to eradicate gender discrimination and to create awareness about importance of women in society. (media saheb.com)
